Challenges in maritime applications

In shipbuilding, reliable sensor technology plays a central role in ensuring safety, efficiency and operational stability on the high seas. Sensors must withstand extreme conditions: saltwater, heavy vibrations, fluctuating temperatures and intensive stress over long periods of time. Only robust and precise systems can deliver reliably accurate data under these demanding conditions.

At the same time, the need for highly accurate measured values for navigation, propulsion and machinery monitoring is increasing. Precise sensor technology makes it possible to analyze complex processes during ongoing operation and to detect critical conditions at an early stage.

With increasing digitalization, the importance of seamless integration into heterogeneous onboard networks is also growing. Modern sensor technology must be compatible, networked and fail-safe in order to support smooth control operations.
