Acquiring blade position – the basis for reliable pitch adjustment
For the control system to know the current position of a rotor blade, the exact blade position must be continuously acquired. On this basis, the controller can precisely actuate the pitch drive and set the desired angle.
Use high-resolution, robust sensors with a magnetic measuring system for precise acquisition of the blade position. These withstand extreme ambient temperatures, humidity, dirt, condensation and heavy vibrations without difficulty.
When installation space in the pitch motor is limited, we recommend our compact bearingless rotary encoders GEL 248. These contactlessly scan a measuring gear connected to the motor shaft. By deploying a second sensor, a redundant system can be realized.
